Position Overview
We are hiring an Education Support Specialist with a deep interest in evidence-based teaching to play a crucial role in supporting educators and students on their journey towards successful, inclusive, and effective biology education.
Primary Responsibilities
Guide new instructors through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition to Codon Learning.
Build strong, supportive relationships with instructors, providing expert guidance on evidence-based teaching and effective course implementation.
Support students by addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a smooth learning experience.
Deliver training sessions to help instructors effectively implement Codon Learning and evidence-based teaching strategies.
Foster a sense of community among Codon Learning users by collaborating with the customer experience team on engagement initiatives.
Give demos and lead workshops for instructors considering Codon for their courses.
Support customer retention by ensuring a positive user experience and identifying opportunities to deepen engagement and encourage word-of-mouth referrals.
Secondary Responsibilities
Represent Codon Learning at conferences and seminars by sharing our mission and showcasing the platform.
Gather feedback from instructors and students to inform platform, content, and support improvements.
Assist in research efforts to measure Codon Learning’s impact on student learning outcomes.
Stay informed on platform updates and collaborate with the product team to enhance user experience.
Advocate for content and product improvements based on user feedback.
Location & Start Date
Remote or based in our Golden, Colorado office
Start date: TBD but no later than June 1, 2025
Required Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in Biology, a related field, or STEM Education
Experience teaching college STEM courses or strong interest in science education
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and follow-up skills
Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Self-motivated, highly-organized, adaptable, and empathetic, with a commitment to supporting educators and students
Technologically proficient and quick to learn new tools
Committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment
Desired Skills & Experience
Familiarity with evidence-based teaching practices or education research
College-level teaching experience (tutor, teaching assistant, or instructor)
Experience engaging with college instructors and facilitating professional development
Comfortable leading outreach efforts, including demos, workshops, and conference presentations
Compensation & Benefits
Full-time, salaried position
Compensation range of $65,000 to $90,000 annually commensurate with skills and experience;

Sales and Marketing Internship
Codon interns will help with sales outreach and marketing Codon’s courseware. They will have the opportunity to learn what it’s like to work in an early stage education technology startup.
Responsibilities (an abbreviated short list):
Researching sales leads and populating our database.
Sending emails to potential customers.
Attending customer demos.
Following up with customers as needed.
Attending daily stand-up meetings.
Helping to create marketing and sales collateral.
Compensation:
$20 an hour.
